I was unsuccessful in business for many years- mostly the result of being young, stupid, stubborn and naive.
Then one day I got pretty good at what I did for living. Hurrah.
The one thing I didn't count on, though, was JUST how much harder work the latter was, in terms of energy, time and stamina.
Of course it's worth it. That doesn't mean you feel like it is worth it, every waking moment. Especially when you've got payroll coming up and your largest client decides that today is your turn in the barrel.
